Speech Impediment
Sep 30th, 2003 by Ree Joy
fallen sideways in
yawning silence
will you let me love
you
without reducing your
significant soul to
kahlil’s haskell?
there is no one else
i would rather crawl
on my knees for
bloody on rocks fierce
with our mutual
reticence
come i will not blaze
my own bitter trail down
your cheeks
i am not that frivolously
selfish
but surely crave the
resonance
your dreams etch in
my own disembodimence
too far apart yet closer
still our fears congregate
into flight
so much like questions
we yet desire no answers
for
but never because we hope
ever because
what’s the
use
talk to me
even in my silence
i forge my anchors from
plays you ravel around the
clink
of a lonely glass against
the barkeep’s
cynicism
as resounding as my own
disappointments
soothing as rain drowning
my tears

Hey, glad to see you’ve got a new one. It’s been weeks, huh.
This is so nice, if sad. But then, it’s the sad things that often compel us to come up with beautiful pieces.
Hope you have a nice weekend Ree. :)
